What Solar Air was

Solar Air was reported as a small Thai commuter and charter airline operated by Solar Aviation Co., Ltd., with Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) as its Bangkok base. It was reportedly founded in 2004, flying short domestic sectors into provincial airports.

Its fleet was reported as three turboprops: two Dornier 228s, seating about 19 passengers each, and one Saab 340A, seating about 33. Alongside the scheduled flights it reportedly ran charter work for private groups and a parcel delivery service.

Routes it served

From Don Mueang, Solar Air was reported to have served eight provincial towns: Chumphon, Hua Hin, Phrae, Loei, Mae Sot, Lampang, Nan and Roi Et. That list is historical: it says where this airline flew, not what flies from those airports now.

Frequently asked questions about Solar Air

Is Solar Air still flying?

Almost certainly not. An aviation directory, airlines-inform.com, describes Solar Air as having suspended operations indefinitely, in an entry last updated in November 2016. That is a directory listing rather than an official record, and no cessation date or cause is established.

For trip planning, treat Solar Air as a historical operator.

Can I book a Solar Air flight?

You should assume not. The airline's website, solarair.co.th, was unavailable when checked on 12 August 2026.

Solar Air had no International Air Transport Association (IATA) two-letter airline code. If one of those provincial routes is what you actually need, check the current schedule for that specific airport pair rather than working from which airline used to fly it.
